Micahpalooza '06: It begins

Today is the beginning of the second (or is it the thirty-first?) annual Micahpalooza. Compared to last year's Vegas jaunt, this'll be a fairly low-key, mostly family-centered affair. Por exemplo: today's events thus far have been working a half day, buying a city sticker for my car and watching "The Cosby Show" (Cliff's birthday episode - it's kismet!). Then I'm going to continue my progress on "The Simpsons: Hit and Run" until dinner with the fam tonight*. The only other definite thing on the itenerary is the G. Love & Special Sauce concert tomorrow night with my brother (and whoever else wants to go).

Speaking of birthdays, I want to apologize to anyone whose birthday I've forgotten this summer. I brought my PDA - which stores all of my friends' birthdays - with me down to VA, intending to transfer the info to my laptop. But I let the battery die and so I have to sync it up with my desktop...which is in Ohio.

*I was going to get a state inspection for my car so I can be totally legal, but I ain't going to wait around at an auto shop for who knows how long on my most special day.

How ugly is that city sticker?

Happy Birthday man! I wish I could be there for the palooza. We may have to do what you did last year for me next year (me being the youngster and all).

When it comes to The Cosby Show, the best in my mind was the song they performed for Cliff's parents anniversary, where Rudy did the "Baaaaby!" part. I remember "the night time, oh is the right time" but I am sure one of the music fanatics on this blog knows the name and will correct me soon enough. Have a blast this weekend and enjoy the special sauce, which I know you always do.

oh yeah, what in the hell is a city sticker? I am out of the loop, and not just the DC loop, the whole damn thing!

We have to purchase city or county stickers (depending on the locality) to register our vehicles with the municipality. These stickers show that the car tax has been paid, and are placed next to the inspection.
CH has had, in the past, some really hideous ones. My county sticker is a blue color that nicely complements the Arctic metallic paint.

spydrz- I got it. Thanks. At least you properly purchased your car to fit the sticker. I would be screwed and have to seek out the county or city that would compliment my bright yellow Jeep. As long as you have Buckeyes colors somewhere on your vehicle around here you fit in.

I think it was '95 or '96 (Micah will have to concur) the CH city sticker was a fuchsia oval, about 4" long. Keep in mind this is in the lower middle of the windshield.

UGLY.

You go, modestly-sized, inconspicuously-colored Fairfax County registration sticker! Wow, this is the worst blog-versation topic EVER! Happy Birth-week, Ol' Dirty Bastard!

Dubin-without the blog's creator around, we sometimes delve into uncharted waters.

That's true spydrz. Micah's always been the disciplined whip-cracker who keeps us in line and keeps us focused.

Thanks, folks.

fraley - Yes, that's a classic. But I don't know if anything can best the very first episode, where Cliff teaches Theo about money management with Monopoly money. Well, maybe the Stevie Wonder episode.

BTW, did you continue the tradition and throw a birthday dinner in my honor (without my being invited)?

Now to get back on topic: full frontal nudity.
