You're beautiful. And dead.

According to a recent UK poll, James Blunt's "Goodbye My Lover" tops the list of songs requested to be played at people's funerals. If any of the songs from Dirty Dancing or Beaches (both on this story's list) are played at my funeral, bring me back to life and then kill me again.

I'll take this opportunity to reiterate my funeral wishes: "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes, someone to play "Keep Me In Your Heart", and for my funeral to be a party.

Make it happen.

I'm with you on the death party idea.

As for songs, I'm torn between the Decemberists "I Was Meant For the Stage" and Eddie Murphy's "Party All The Time"

For a second my heart leapt with excitement, since I thought you were going to post that people were sick of that insipid, syrupy, overwraught adolescent-angst-y bore of a "song" and it was being officially declared dead.

Um. No offense to anyone who likes it or anything.

i'd rather they'd play the weird al yankovic version of that song in my funeral.

or, if not, than "white and nerdy", also by weird al.

Yes, "White and Nerdy" has become a personal anthem of mine. That, or anything by mc chris.

THSE - It's a celebration!

law fairy - I would've recommended Weird Al's "You're Pitiful", but jasdye beat me to it.

George - Funny, I would've pegged your theme song as "Hotstepper". Mine's "Miss Independent".
