Since it's the season and all...

How about a very polite vampire*?

Someone should tell her that vampires have recently been proven to be mathematically impossible.

*I think she's been drinking.

mathematically impossible? that's crazy-talk!

what these profs fail to comprehend is that these vampires run blood banks and - with their financial resources - can afford to make synthetic blood.

and if that doesn't work, they can always harvest humans.

In lieu of a functional college football thread, I'll start it off with this:

On the banks of the Red Cedar,
There's a school that's known to all;
Its specialty is winning,
And those Spartans play good ball;
Spartan teams are never beaten,
All through the game they'll fight;
Fight for the only colors:
Green and White.

Go right through for MSU,
Watch the points keep growing,
Spartan teams are bound to win,
They're fighting with a vim.
Rah! Rah! Rah!
See their team is weakening,
We're going to win this game,
Fight! Fight! Rah! Team, Fight!
Victory for MSU!

Please....it's all we have left...

Michigan State has a fight song?

Yes. See above. Unfortunately, not much of it actually applies to the football team right now, after an embarrassing lop-sided loss to football powerhouse Indiana.

jasdye - Your ideas are intriguing and I'd like so subscribe to your newsletter.

dubin - Seriously, are you seeing any vim?

I much prefer "Hail to thee/hail to thee/hail to read and blue..."

THSE - Sorry. Went to the highland games today and I'm beat. But I'll try to cook something up.

If "vim" is "complete and utter ineptitude", then yes, I see plenty of vim.

Hail to the Spartans.

micah,

there's a few instructional films out there that my cohorts and i put together.

_Underworld_ and _Underworld II_

and our greatest accomplish, a trifecta that we simply call, _Blade_.

dubin,

you thrash the Big Ten in basketball. what more do y'all need?

I think the big fear around here is that, without Maurice Ager (Dallas Mavericks) and Shannon Brown (Cleveland Cavaliers), we won't even be that good in basketball this year--which of course means no excuse to riot. Sure, there's always hockey, but let's face it, it's not the same.

but you've got something, say, the fighting illini do not - a legacy.

and, therefore, a fighting chance.

True: Program history goes a long way in college sports, in terms of recruiting.

UPDATE: As of 1pm E.S.T. yesterday, [insert Nixon voice], they won't have John L. Smith to kick around anymore.
