"Why, it looks like young men playing leapfrog."

Yesterday I went to the Richmond Greek Festival (slogan: "come for the food, stay for the George Stephanopoulos kissing booth") and had one helluva good dessert: loukomades. Basically, they're fried dough balls dipped in a honey glaze and topped with cinnamon. Standing with one handing holding a sweet tea and the other holding the container, it made for some tough eating. Especially when I got to the two loukomades that were fused together.

spydrz: "When was the last time you had two balls in your mouth at once?"
me: "Last night."

Forbidden love of the Greeks, indeed.

You've already recycled the Stephanopolous joke?

I workshopped it and it proved to be successful, plus only three other people heard it at the time (as opposed to my potential audience of millions here).

The blog isn't as media-fun when none of the images load...

How are you enjoying VA?

You know, timing is everything. Denae just moved to Columbus, at least for the summer. Then she's moving to London (September).

You all could have had a wild time if you were still there...

mmmmm... sweet tea.

that's something we could definitely use more of up in chicago. a sweet tea bar, probably.

spydrz - Not sure what's wrong on your end; everything's fine on mine.

KtG - Babe! It's a shame that I'm going to miss Denae. We would've totally wrecked shop (to use mid-90s hip-hop slang). My dad's going up to Cincy this weekend for some hoity-toity wedding. I'd give you details, but I'm not in the know. But if you ever want to hit VA, my door's always open...

jasdye - Finally! A culinary delight that Chicago can't lay claim to. I think your best bet is to hit up Chik-Fil-A, if you have those. But then again, you're out of luck if you are jonesin' for sweet tea on Sundays.

Now that I think of it, two wild Ahia girls going on a road trip to the capital of the Confederacy would be an awesome way to sow some oats. I'm just sayin'.

we're in the yankee, urbane part of the north-midwest(unlike indy), so no chik-fil-a. though my parents do (un)fortunately live in Walmerica aka Oklalmart.

best bet is to buy a sweet tea kit and wait a couple weeks for the brewing.

Maybe I can convince D-Money to take a little trip...

I don't know whether our Vegas plans are going to happen in August so we might as well visit the second best place.

They do say Virginia is for lovers...

jasdye - Waiting weeks for sweet tea? Man, that just ain't right.

KtG - C'mon. You know you want to. Bummer about Vegas. I can't imagine a year without a Vegas trip nowadays, but I fear that I won't be able to make it out there at all in 2006. A tear.
