But I hear his math SAT score was off the charts

Yesterday at work Jack Johnson's "Sitting, Waiting, Wishing" came on my MP3 player:

I sang your songs, I danced your dance
I gave your friends all a chance
But putting up with them
Wasn't worth never having you


I'm still trying to wrap my noodle around that last line.

yeah, "never having you" doesn't make a lick of sense. he, apparently, did have her, no? he's just bullspitting.

but then again, it depends on what the word "has" is.

I think Johnson might be referring to the (unsuccessful) effort put forth in trying to win the subject's affections.

That said, I spit on effort.
