I think the ACLU programmed my iPod

I ripped about 20-30 Christmas CDs and inputted them into my iPod over the weekend. In doing so, I saw that the genre of every song was labelled "Holiday." So, I changed each of the songs to a "Christmas" label (which is not a pre-loaded genre in iTunes). Now, this is not something to get infuriated and write your Congressman about, but I did find it kind of vexing. If you are already playing your own Christmas music in iTunes, would you be the type to be offended by the use of the word "Christmas"? If so, you must be a very conflicted person.

I agree with your comments about using 'Christmas' instead of 'holiday'. Next thing you know they'll try to change the lyrics to 'White Christmas'!
Hmmm. 'I'm dreaming of a white holiday....'
I'll stop now before I get on my soapbox!
Merry Christmas!!

That is strange. I guess maybe so your "holiday" playlist includes all your Channukah and, um, Ramadan songs?

What really steams me is when so many of the people who say they want "religious freedom" really mean that they just want religions to shut up and go away. Which is really quite intolerant of them.

Lainey - Happy New Year to you, too!

law fairy - You may have a point as, spread out on my "Holiday" CDs, are a few Channukah and New Year's songs. Sadly, I have no Kwanzaa songs.

Definite agreement with your second point. Have you heard that Michael Newdow (the Pledge of Allegiance guy) wants to remove "In God We Trust" from all of our currency. Doubt that'll happen.

Ugh. I think I've heard that. The guy never quits.

I had the misfortune of watching a debate between him and Jay Sekulow (fighting on the side of justice and the Constitution) in law school. I'm sad to say, Jay did not do a great job. They should have had me debate the guy. I would have MAULED that sucker! Rhetorically, of course.

It sucks when the Constitution loses (*cough*smoking bans*cough*).
