"I know my calculus, it says U + Me = Us"

Say it. Don't spray it.

I miss 2gether.

Dear god.

I really don't know what else to say.

That pic's hilarious, isn't it? The show was actually pretty funny. Especially Chris Farley's brother.

But with the boy band bubble popping there really wasn't much to make fun of anymore.

I forgot about that!! It really WAS funny!!

Girl, You've got to say it
Don't spray it
I want the news
Not the weather

Man, that was one funny show. You know the head singer guy, Jerry, is the host of "While you Were Out"?

On a completely unrelated note (except the general pop culture theme): When I walked outside this morning and felt like I was in Denang (90 degrees w/98% humidity) - I immediately thought, "It's hot, damn hot, Africa hot..." I can't remember the rest of the quote!!! Can't find it on the net either, any help from our pop culture mavens (Micah, CB) would be greatly appreciated.

panthergirl - Yeah, it was fun to see MTV poke fun at the beast they created.

KPMD - Never seen that show. Good to know he found work, though.

"I've never been good at history
And I don't give a crap about Robert E. Lee"

As for your question, it sounds vaguely familiar. The best I could come up with - and keeping with the Denang theme - was this Robin Williams bit from Good Morning, Vietnam:

"It's hot. Damn hot! Real hot! Hottest things is my shorts. I could cook things in it. A little crotch pot cooking." Well, can you tell me what it feels like? "Fool, it's hot! I told you again! Were you born on the sun? It's damn hot! I saw... It's so damn hot, I saw little guys, their orange robes burst into flames. It's that hot! Do you know what I'm talking about?" What do you think it's going to be like tonight? "It's gonna be hot and wet! That's nice if you're with a lady, but it ain't no good if you're in the jungle."

And keeping with the theme, I'm reminded of a joke I saw on a blog one day (the name escapes me). Disrespectful? Maybe. Funny? To me, at least:

Q: How many Vietnam veterans does it take to change a lightbulb?
A: YOU WOULDN'T KNOW BECAUSE YOU WEREN'T THERE!

Thanks Micah. I think I may have imagined the "Africa hot" part. I feel much better now.

I FOUND IT! You weren't crazy, after all. Well, not for this particular thought. Anyway, the full quote is:

"It's HOT! Africa hot! Tarzan couldn't take this kinda hot."

...and it's from Biloxi Blues. Can't believe I couldn't think of it. One of Walken's best and I saw it in the theater and on TV many times.

So, when you Googled did you put the phrase in quotation marks? Because that's how I found it.

I forgot the quotation marks!! I defer to your superior google searching ability and now, truly, feel better. And not crazy, well, at least not about that.

Off Topic from Reason:

He's the libertarian/magician/comedian co-host of Showtime's Bullshit. She's his newborn infant daughter. Together... they fight crime!

Well, OK, not quite yet. But apparently Penn Jillette (whom Nick Gillespie interviewed in our December ish) has named his daughter Moxie CrimeFighter Jillette, which is pretty badass. I'd always been partial to "Antigone" as a girl's name, but hadn't given any thought to the fantastic potential of the middle name. "Antigone Ninja Sanchez" has a certain ring to it. (Hat tip: Boing Boing.)

Strangely enough, not that off topic. Jerry (aka Evan Farmer) hosted a WYWO where Penn surprised Teller w/a makeover of their dressing room in Vegas. Teller, as he is wont to do, had no comment.

KPMD - You are the master of bringing it back to the topic at hand. Hats off to you, my dear.

Shamrock - Thanks for that little tidbit. I'm curious about his novel (Sock). One day I'll get it from the library. You bitches better be ready for a lil' P&T action because if we go to a show during Micah-palooza in Vegas, it'll be theirs. Or we can just blow money at OG.

I think everyone is missing a very key point here: Shamrock just made a (very recent) pop culture reference. And he didn't get it wrong. I do believe the apocalyspe is now officially around the corner.

Freaky...

And I don't see any spelling errors! Please don't tempt fate.

I think someone else might have gotten into Shamrock's computer??
