A very Cincinnati day

The Nats realize they're sucking and have a conference.

Got back from my day trip not too long ago. While the Nationals lost 12-3 (ouch!), I still had a blast. We had great seats. Had two ballpark staples for lunch: a hot dog and peanuts. I got my very first Terrible Sunburn of the season. I learned about the existence of a new vegetable, but the name escapes me (it starts with a "j" but is prounounced with an "h" sound). I went to Skyline Chili for dinner (I had the low carb bowl, if you must know). And I visited an authentic Cincinnati Wal-Mart.

An actual exchange while shopping for aloe:
Me: This bottle's only $4. But this one is blue. And it's all glittery. I can look like a stripper!
Mindy: I think that's just the sticker on the back coming through the bottle.
Me: Oh.

Note to self: invent some sort of of aloe/body glitter combination. For dudes.

It was jicama. And I found the recipe for the cole slaw Juan-Carlos Cruz was making on Calorie Commando,,, but it has lots of mayo and vinegar.

My sunburn has gotten a bit more pink, but what's a baseball game without some battle scars.

Oh and when are you going to email me those pics of that unsightly, shirtless man with the tats and the exposed boxers? I need a poster mounted above my bed...

Glitter -and- aloe? Wow. There's a secret side to you I had no idea about...

I'll pass on the slaw, but may try the jicama (THAT'S IT!). My burn has turned a fiery red (in color and feeling). The pics will be forthcoming. Heh heh...I said "forth."

As for the aloe and glitter combo - sometimes you just want to soothe your sunburn and look like you just had an intimate lapdance at the same time.

spydrz - I don't know, but it'd be calld Glaloe.

michelle - Not really a fan of wearing glitter, but it being transferred to my skin through contact with another...priceless.

As for my sunburn, I burst into flames if I so much step outside. I blame my Scottish heritage.

Mmm, jicama.

So, it's good, Kristen? Okay, that's two blog buddies that dig jicama. Guess I'll have to try it.

So true. I marvel at how immaculate the fields look sometimes. Thanks for stopping by.
