Beware the Hump Day News Round-Up

  • That's one big Whammy: "Press Your Luck" host Peter Tomarken and his wife died in a plane crash.
  • Red China has banned programs and movies that mix live action and animation from being broadcast on the country's television channels. Just when you think the Commies can't get any kookier...
  • More women watched the Super Bowl than the Oscars (40 million and 23 million, respectively). Interesting.
  • Williams-Sonoma is being sued for appropriating the term "Fluffernutter". Any negative press inflicted upon marshmallows (vile!) is fine by me. The only marshmallows that I like are those in breakfast cereals and their classification as such is tenuous at best.
  • Allow me to introduce you to the littlest racist. I don't know about you, but this white devil finds her hate speech cute as a button.

aaaaawwww.

who could be offended by her?

it sounds like she's not pc enough, though. that's what she needs, to be more pc. don't offend anybody's sensibilities and she could have a long and prosperous career.

I'm no fan of PC talk and feel the term "racist" is thrown around way too much nowadays (as a recent post on your blog indicates), but I'm also not one for hateful, devisive talk, as well as the perpetual victim mentality ("liberation"?).

Basically, I have a rule of thumb: If Al Sharpton promotes a person, event, or idea, then I am diametrically opposed to it.

She's only 7, so I think the blame really falls on her parents and those around her filling her head with that stuff. (The story I linked doesn't have her "white devils" comment, but this op-ed piece does.)

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got some Prussian Blue to listen to.

The red Chinese must have seen the episode of "Drawn Together" in which Wooldor is smitten with Live-Action Cow...

You watch that show? I gave it a few chances when it started last season, but it just didn't bring the funny.

Hey, if the Chinese don't want Jessica Rabbit, no problem.
