Halloween flashback

I'm not dressing up for Halloween this year (my Shaun of the Dead "I Got Wood" t-shirt may turn off the parents of the kids I hand candy out to), but I thought that I'd share my favorite costume. I've been many things: Yoda, Indiana Jones, Ed Grimley, Charlie Brown. But the best was from a couple of years ago...the Hedgehog himself, pornography legend Ron Jeremy.

And the lower half:

I was pretty smashed at that particular party, but according to reports, I thrust myself on pretty much all of my female friends. I'm a class act, I tells ya.

At least it didn't double as a water gun.

Honest to God, no fewer than TWO guys did that at an unfortunate party I attended last year.

Yech.

Nope. Just a cucumber and newspaper wrapped up in some pantyhose.

Aw man, I thought I was pretty original with my costume.

Good job, old boy! You've made me proud!

Glad to see you learned a lesson from Derek Smalls (bassist for Spinal Tap, for those who don't know) and didn't wrap the cucumber in aluminum foil, so as not to alert airport security metal detectors.

But that is a great idea for a costume, complete with an alibi for thrusting on females. My Optimus Prime costume was great, but not for thrusting.

THSE - Yes, it was one of my shining moments.

dubin - Usually in times of trouble, I turn to David St. Hubbins for guidance, but thought Derek was a more appropriate choice. Speaking of DSH, you kind of looked like him that one year in college when you dressed up like David Lee Roth.

Optimus Prime costume? Chicks dig Transformers.

Energon > Viagra, Cialis, and Crystal Meth

Watch out for Transformers.

Micah, I think you're a pretty cute guy, but looking at you in that costume is horrible!

Few enough people recognized the Optimus Prime costume (I must be getting old or something). Much as I love the idea, a David St. Hubbins costume might really be lost on people. I may just have to steal the Ron Jeremy idea sometime, though.

The only thing funnier than the pictures is the Derek Smalls comment...

I just noticed it, but did you have the "Ron DMC" T-shirt specially made for the costume?

In other news, the Spartans wrested the coveted Brass Spittoon (kind of like the Michigan-Minnesota Little Brown Jug or the Wisconsin-Minnesota Paul Bunyan's Axe, but more socially acceptable to spit tobacco into or on it) from the Hoosiers for the third year running. I think with this victory, MSU clinched the middle of the Big-10, and we're now rankied #1 in the ESPN/USA Today Underachieving Teams Poll.

In other other news, I just made up the aforementioned poll.

Anon - Aw, thanks. But this was a Halloween costume. Scary! And have you seen the real Ron Jeremy?

panthergirl - Spinal Tap rulez! They've got aramadillos in their trousers.

dubin - I actually got the shirt at Porn Star Clothing. It's still in my regular rotation.

Congrats to MSU. They needed a blow out, even if it was against Indiana (that time out with :02 left - genius!). OSU manhandled them last week. The Big Ten's interesting this season. No one dominating school. We're all co-champions!

you mean like the NFC North? the Bears could take the championship with a 5-11 record this year.

go north midwestern football!

You know I don't follow pro football. On any given sunday, I'm napping. And my Monday nights belong to "Arrested Development" and "Kitchen Confidential."

do they even have those shows on anymore? it seems all fox is showing on mondays is "prison break."

that might have made for a good frank darabount film - with, say, tim robbins and morgan freeman in the leads, but a whole series? puh-lease!

you have to follow enough pro-ball to recognize that this is a truly wretched year for just about any team NOT in ohio.

Micah--OSU did NOT manhandle MSU, and it was NOT last week (last week we got manhandled by mighty Northwestern). The Spartans merely manhandled themselves (hee hee!), and they only lost by 11, which would be like two goals in hockey.

jasdye - Those shows were on break because of the month-long baseball coverage. Oh, they'll be back. As for "Prison Break," I had about 10 episodes sitting unwatched on my DVR before I realized I was way behind and didn't want to make the time commitment to start the series. I'll just catch it on DVD.

I'm honestly not even following the standings. Could care less about either Ohio team. Now if C-Bus ever got a franchise, then I'd be more interested. Then again, that didn't really work for arena football.

dubin - I was referring to OSU's 41-10 victory over the Hoosiers last week, not the MSU game (which was rather tight). I'd never besmirch the Spartans that way.
